Gabriella Larkin-Bruce

MANAGING DIRECTOR | Senior Agent

Gabriella took over the management of the Robert Bruce Agency in 2009 after the unexpected passing of Robert, her partner in life and business. Trained at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in the early 80s, Gabriella spent much of her professional acting career first in Australia, where television roles included The Zoo Family, Prime Time, The Henderson Kids II, Flying Doctors, All The Way, Neighbours, This Man This Woman, then Europe where theatre roles included Duet for One (Stephanie Anderson), Our Country’s Good (Mary Brenham), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Titania), and Twelfth Night (Viola). Back in New Zealand in the late-90s her credits included guest starring roles in Duggan, Xena, Hercules, Jack of All Trades and Shortland Street. A run-in with cancer triggered a re-focus, which led to some years in event management and film & television production before setting up a production company specialising in non-broadcast health education content: a monthly 1-hour magazine-style format with Gabriella as producer, presenter and regular interviewer. After more than thirty years’ immersion in creative and production processes, Gabriella’s commitment is to keep building on the Agency’s special history by respecting the Robert Bruce heritage, maintaining the same standards of fair dealing and professionalism, and having a clear vision for future growth. Elena Stejko

AGENT | Drama

Elena brings very special insights to her role. A 1991 graduate of Kiev State University of Art, her work as actor, teacher and director has taken her to many countries. In New Zealand she has worked extensively as a casting director for features, short films and television projects and commercials. She tutors at Toi Whakaari, Unitec, South Seas and The Actors’ Program. Her own Actors Studio specialises in Michael Chekhov and Stanislavsky techniques. Elena’s in-house pre-audition coaching has been invaluable for many RBA clients. Stage highlights include her Chapman Tripp Best Actress Award winning role in Shortcut to Happiness, ATC’s Romeo and Juliet and Midnight in Moscow and Fortune Theatre’s Boeing Boeing. Memorable screen roles include What We Do In The Shadows, Russian Snark – for which she received three 2010 Best Actress nominations – and TV’s Agent Anna. Email Elena

Chris Easley

AGENT | Action Actors

Chris has a lengthy and laudable resume as a stunt performer in countless film and television productions including Xena, Hercules and as an actor, notably in Legend of the Seeker and Shortland Street. But it’s his wider background - as a qualified fitness trainer, professional sportsman and martial arts exponent of international standing - that delivers an impressive skillset to the RBA team and makes him especially welcome as an additional agent. Chris is uniquely equipped to advise, coach and mentor actors on the physical aspects of working on stage and screen. Not stunt work, but the mastery of balance, movement and spatial awareness. The physicality that can make the difference between an ordinary performance and a confident, memorable one. Workshops and seminars are in development. Email Chris

Penny Larkin

AGENT | Commercial (Aus)

The growing needs of the agency’s Australian interests are anchored in Sydney by Penny. No stranger to the industry, Penny spent some years with the Southern Star Group now known as EndemolShine Australia. Her logistics and account management skills are proving increasingly helpful as she and Gabriella co-ordinate across the Tasman. Central to Penny’s work/life balance is her family of three boys, all state-level sports competitors. That means Penny connects with a far-reaching network of highly motivated, competitive families of diverse ethnicities. So as well as looking after our Australia-based acting clients, the Sydney office has introduced a new roster of local commercial talent. Email Penny
