MANAGING DIRECTOR | Senior Agent
Trained at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in the early 80’s, Gabriella’s wide-ranging professional acting career started on stage and screen in Australia, then in theatre in the UK and The Netherlands. Back in New Zealand in the late 90’s, guest starring credits included Duggan, Xena, Hercules, Jack of All Trades and Shortland Street.
A run-in with cancer triggered a major refocus, which led to some years in event management, film & television production, and setting up a pioneering digital streaming platform specialising in producing health education content.
In 2009 Gabriella took over the management of the Robert Bruce Agency after the unexpected passing of Robert, her partner in life and business.
Gabriella’s continuing commitment to build on the Agency’s special history, honour the Robert Bruce heritage, maintain the same standards of fair dealing and professionalism, promote and foster great talent, and pursue a clear vision for future growth, is fully embraced by the RBA team.
His remarkable blend of practical experience, skills and insights, and his natural empathy, have made Chris a valued supporter and advisor for many RBA artists.
As an actor he’s done his time in front of the cameras, notably as a Shortland Street regular. As a stuntie he has been a stalwart professional right through New Zealand’s sword and sandal golden age - and beyond.
Paralleling all that has been his internationally lauded career in elite sport, as a martial arts practitioner and coach. For RBA clients that also means Chris is a uniquely qualified mentor in all the physical aspects of performance, including stunt work.
OFFICE MANAGER | Accounts
oming on board when Gabriella took the helm in 2009, Louise’s long corporate career as an Executive Assistant has proved invaluable. Working alongside Gabriella throughout, Louise plays a key role in supervising the processes that underpin success: general office administration, maintaining databases, and assisting in talent co-ordination and accounts.
Aileen had spent most of her life in the orbit of the Robert Bruce Agency before becoming a fully fledged team member, assisting Gabriella, growing into the role of agent and, especially, providing valuable insights into the next generation and the digital universe.
The Robert Bruce Agency engages Stoven Advisory Ltd for financial management services.
The growing needs of the agency’s Australian interests are anchored in Sydney by Penny. No stranger to the industry, Penny spent some formative years with the Southern Star Group (now EndemolShine Australia). Her logistics and account management skills have proved increasingly relevant as she and the team co-ordinate across the Tasman. Building on the Agency’s 30+ year links with Australian casting directors, Penny has reinforced those relationships across the genres as our local agent. As well as looking after our Australia-based acting clients, the Sydney office is expanding our roster of local talent.
Branding and marketing communications support for the Agency and its clients is provided by ikons.
